This guide was created to highlight the deep bond between Gino Severini (1883–1966), one of the leading figures of Italian Futurism, and his hometown: Cortona.

Born out of a cultural promotion project, the volume invites readers to explore Severini’s artistic legacy preserved at the MAEC – Museum of the Etruscan Academy and the City of Cortona, housed in the evocative setting of Palazzo Casali.

The itinerary places Severini’s human and artistic journey at its core, weaving together his engagement with Futurism, Cubism, sacred art, the Etruscan tradition, and the cultural fabric of Cortona. Special attention is given to his relationship with his daughter, Romana Severini Brunori, and to the legacy the artist left to the city—today part of a wider body of work dispersed across major museums around the world.

A journey through art and identity, rediscovering a 20th-century master through the unbroken thread of his Cortonese roots.
